Backstabber Chandra Babu Naidu

Got an email the other day questioning of why I do not do anything on local/state politics but instead focus on national and international. That was an interesting question and perhaps the answer lies in escapism and the notion of otherism.
This is not to say that I dont have material for local politics and events are indeed very steamy. For example, movies are obsessed with New York but whatever is happening in New York is local to the people and they could hardly care less. Simple relativity. To keep it short and real, here is a sample from the files…

For the uninitated, the statue is that of a movie-star turned political leader, N T Rama Rao, who setup the ‘Telugu Desam’ party in Andhra Pradesh. The guy garlanding the statue is Chandra Babu Naidu who came into power of the party and then the state through a coup. You know, the IT savvy chief minister, Cyberadad etc. NTR could not take the betrayal and died of multi-organ failure.
Come election time, CBN shamelessly uses the NTR card to woo the masses. It all seems quite silly to me and just goes on to show how short-lived the public memory is and the capacity for deceit that politicians/goondas can be capable of.
