Women Thy Let Go and Love

If one observes populist media (TV, movies, novels, theatre etc.), one can easily uncover a pattern that it is men who are the more romantic partners in any relationship. We men are the ones falling in love like there is no tomorrow at the drop of a hat (or pen or neckline) and making all the efforts to keep the woman happy. Whereas women are the moody ones and the ones initiating the break-up – even citing that ‘lack of commitment’ as a reason. I can go even so far as to say that breaking of hearts, unhappy marriages and ugly divorces (in fiction and in life) are entirely to do with the fairer sex. Of course, there are always going to be exceptions but I am trying to generalize here.
Go on, take a pick. ‘Big Bang Theory’, ‘Friends’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘He’s Not That Into You’, ‘Mission Impossible’, ‘As Good As It Gets’, ‘Music and Lyrics’, ‘Knocked Up’, ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘Q & A’ (Slumdog Millionaire), ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ et al. Get the point?

So, naturally, the most obvious question to ask is why is it that the female of the species is the rebel and spoil-sport? The answer, dear reader, is that women struggle in love. Now they can be the nurturer and nest-keeper in the relationship but they still find it hard to cope with love I say. The reason being that they never truly, madly, deeply fall in love like men. Why?
The buck really stops with the fact that women are unforgiving (it is just their genetic make-up and brain wiring) which means that they can never really ‘let go’ of anything – which is undoubtedly the single-most important ingredient to love. Dont ask me why. Question yourself and answer it.

With women, every little thing gets registered and amplified in time. A good analogy is how a speck of sand gets converted into a pearl by the accumulation of saliva inside the oyster – only that in the case of women, the little things develop into poisonous cancerous tumours.
Men of course are more forgiving, nay, forgetful. For example, when the woman gets fat after marriage, men dont mind. It is all the more reason to be lazier. But when men forget to say ‘I love you honey’ after the 10th phone call of the day enquiring about what type of peanut butter to get, it is grounds for domestic abuse. Simply put, men ‘let go’ a lot better than women. Ergo, they have a huge capacity for love. It is a natural thing with evolutionary feedback.

After all, to err is human. To forgive/forget is divine. And divine beings in every religion and culture are reservoirs of infinite love. So, the only ones who can love are the ones who can forgive/forget viz. ‘let go’. Women, unfortunately, do not fall into that category.
So, here is my love guru advise – ‘let go and love’.

[edit] In response to all the flame I will get for the comment that women are wired not to let go, yes, maybe there is a point. Let us see if there is an evolutionary binding too.
Men were hunters and if stats on ‘Animal Planet’ are to be believed, more than 50% of hunts are unsuccessful. So, men had to just shrug and move on. Now, when food was brought home, women had to hold on to it come what may. Indeed, women have evolved not to let go easily. Ever heard the phrase, ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’? Tsk.
