Archy – Jef Raskin – Strands

This http://www.raskincenter.org/index2.html#whatisarchy looks useful for our Strands architecture. Am quite excited because it is the child of Jef Raskin (the inventor of Macintosh GUI and who sadly passed away recently on Feb’27 2005) –
“…Archy is a nucleus to which commands are added. The commands are what you use to do tasks from checking email to rendering video frames. Superficially, this sounds like an operating system to which applications are added, but it is fundamentally different, especially from a human-centered point of view…”
So, what is Strands you ask me? Well, it is secret for now but maybe it suffices that is a novel inforganics based computational model for life and our memories that could maybe, just about maybe achieve the Memex vision and then, a bit more… Watch this space 🙂
