Formatting Guidelines

Welcome to YANYS Clog!
Anyone can post to this blog by sending an email to sriks6711.yanys _a_ and a small note on formatting is in order. This could save us all some valuable time while making the Clog easier on the eyes –
1) If you use a visual HTML editor, then just write your story in it and post the source in the email. Note that Microsoft Word can be used to write HTML pages. Just save it as HTML and the source can be viewed by opening the HTML file in Wordpad. For other specialist editors, the source-code view should be available
2) If you do not know what HTML is or have not used any such thing before, please read on. Because of the wide variety of email clients we have, we have disabled the automatic HTML formatting on this Blog. So, if you want to create a new line a simple “enter, aka <-|” on your PC will not work. You have to put in a break viz. “br”(within ‘s) to have a new line i.e. this followed by “br”(within ) tag will look as –
this followed by
tag will look as –
Get the picture? Right, now to put a seperate para, put a “p”(within ) tag. Or better still put “br”(within ) followed by —- and “br”(within ) so that we have a line seperator with 4 dashes like this.
This is more visible (in my opinion). Of course for those who know a bit of HTML, use the tags for bold, italic, underline, font-colours as “b”, “i”, “u”, “font color=” respectively (all within ‘s of course and ending them with “/b”, “/i”, “/u”, “/font” to make the HTML code valid. There are 16 safe colours supported by the W3C HTML 4.0 standard (aqua, black, blue, fuchsia, gray, green, lime, maroon, navy, olive, purple, red, silver, teal, white, and yellow). So putting “font color=green” and typing some text after that will make it (surprise) green and you should end it with “/font”. Guess this is all the formatting normal people need. Do remember the “br” tag. That should be enough for most.
If anyone has any more formatting preferences, edit this post…
Au Revoir!
